How It Works
Krazy Klean is a chemical-free device that drops into your toilet tank and keeps the bowl free of hard water stains, rust, and limescale for up to 10 years — no scrubbing, no tablets to replace, and nothing harsh going into your water. Here's how it does it.
The science: Hydro-Mineral Magnet Technology
Hard water stains form when dissolved minerals — calcium, magnesium, and iron — cling to each other and stick to the surfaces of your tank and bowl. Over time, that buildup hardens into the scale, rust, and rings most people scrub at every week.
Krazy Klean interrupts that process at the source. As water moves through the unit, Hydro-Mineral Magnet Technology changes how the minerals behave so they can no longer group together and turn "sticky." Without the ability to bind, the minerals stay suspended in the water and rinse away with each flush instead of hardening onto the surface.
Because it works on the minerals themselves rather than adding a cleaning agent, Krazy Klean never puts anything into your water and never takes anything out.
What's inside
Each unit is made of two parts working together:
-
Hydro-Mineral Magnets — the core technology that stops minerals from forming stains and scale.
-
Bact-o-Bane casing — a housing made from recycled resins, engineered to protect the magnets and stay durable for 10+ years fully submerged.
How to use it
-
Prep the bowl. Krazy Klean prevents new stains, but it won't remove buildup that's already there. If your toilet has existing hard water stains or scale, clear them first with a pumice stone so you start fresh.
-
Drop it in the tank. Place one unit inside your toilet tank. No tools, no plumbing, no installation.
-
Forget about it. Leave the unit in place and it keeps working for up to 10 years — no matter how often the toilet is flushed.
What Krazy Klean prevents
Krazy Klean is built to stop the buildup caused by hard water and minerals, including:
- Hard water stains and rings
- Limescale and calcium deposits
- Rust stains in the tank and bowl
What it doesn't do
To set the right expectations:
-
It doesn't disinfect or deodorize. For sanitizing, soap and water — or your usual bleach — work perfectly fine alongside it.
-
It doesn't remove existing stains. It prevents future buildup, so clear any old staining first (see Step 1).
-
It doesn't prevent mold or mildew. Its job is mineral scale and staining, not organic growth.
Safe for your toilet, your septic system, and your home
Krazy Klean is chemical-free and fragrance-free, so there's no odor and nothing added to your water. It won't damage your toilet's parts, and it's 100% septic-safe — because it adds nothing to the water, it won't disrupt the bacteria a septic system depends on. One unit handles one toilet, it can be moved to another toilet if you relocate, and it's fine to leave in place seasonally.
Frequently asked questions
How long does Krazy Klean last? Up to 10 years. A single unit keeps one toilet stain-free for the life of the product, backed by a 10-year guarantee.
Is Krazy Klean safe for septic systems? Yes. It's chemical-free and doesn't add or remove anything from the water, so it won't affect the bacteria your septic system relies on.
Does it work if my toilet is already stained? Krazy Klean prevents future staining and scaling but won't remove existing buildup. For best results, remove current stains with a pumice stone before placing the unit in your tank.
Does it make the water blue or add any scent? No. It's chemical-free and fragrance-free, so it doesn't color the water or add any smell.
Does the number of flushes affect how well it works? No. How often you flush has no impact on Krazy Klean's effectiveness.
Can I still use bleach or other cleaners? Yes. You can safely use bleach or any other cleaning product alongside Krazy Klean.
How many units do I need? One unit per toilet. Multi-packs are available if you have more than one toilet at home.
